Rio is not Rio without its carnival, known all over the world, a festive moment, samba, exuberance, passions, excess and light for a week. But the carnival is not only the parade at the Sambodrome, but it is also the street carnival with hundreds of “blocos” (street parades) gathering batucadas (percussion) and crowds marching to the rhythm of music for hours.
