Your visit of the imperial City : Petropolis
About an hour and a half away from Rio lies the city of Petropolis that was founded in 1843 by the Emperor Dom Pedro II. Italian, German, and Swiss architects, engineers and artists were invited to have the city built. The end result was such a beautifull and enjoyable place that the emperor lived there, with the entire court, almost 6 months out of the year, making it, during that time, the capital of the empire. The city has a surprising number of monuments, museums, churches and beautifull parks.These treasures will be discovered strolling the streets while listenig to historical facts and anecdotes. Lunch will be enjoyed in one of the city’s best restaurants.
